A recent graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Ravi T-Ray has been making a name for himself in the Sydney music scene. He is a Sydney-Based pianist/music educator who specialises in everything from private events/functions, group and solo performances, private tutoring and is now starting to release his own music.

Ravi co-founded the 10-piece jazz ensemble Mosaic in 2023, a vibrant, creative group which is specifically tailored to showcasing original works by Australian composers under the age of 25.

Recognized as the 2024 2MBS Fine Music Sydney Artist in Residence, Mosaic released their debut album Where We Are Now in October 2024, which debuted at #2 on the ARIA Jazz & Blues chart and #4 on the AIR 100% Independent Albums chart.

The group held a year-long residency at Foundry616 and performed at major festivals including the Sydney Conservatorium Jazz Festival, Manly Jazz Festival, and Wangaratta Jazz Festival. Critics have described Mosaic as “a significant event in Australian Jazz History” (Eric Myers, The Australian) and “one of the most exciting new acts in the city's jazz scene” (Eastside FM). Ravi continues to compose and perform with Mosaic, with their second studio album slated for recording in late 2025.

Ravi is currently in the process of expanding his career and portfolio. He has a regular gig at Bloom Cafe in Pott's Point and has received positive feedback for his understanding of the space and providing the appropriate atmosphere.

He has aspirations for continuing to record his own music as well as contribute to other musical projects. Ravi has a passion for music and is not limited to one specific style or genre. He is keen to pass on this passion to the next generation of musicians.

Along with performing, Ravi is also an enthusiastic musical educator. He runs the Senior Stage Band rhythm section at Rose Bay Secondary College, along with teaching private piano lessons and music theory tutoring.
